Advancing the Kingdom

God has called us to be salt and light so that His kingdom can be advanced. In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven”. Clearly, God wills for us to pray and work at advancing His kingdom.

After Jesus' resurrection, He gave His disciples a very important promise. “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,” He said. As disciples of Christ, born again through faith, we have received His Spirit and are partakers in this promise. But in the same verse Jesus continues, “and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem , and in all Judea and Samaria , and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJ). In Bethlehem Christian Center we want to follow this command being in our “Jerusalem” (Hunedoara) continuing out through “all Judea and Samaria” (Hunedoara country and the rest of Romania ) and even reaching “the end of the earth” (ministry abroad). We feel the burden to take Jesus' command seriously, and bring the Gospel of life to a dying world. “For this is the commandment that the Lord has given us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, so that all the world may be saved.'" ( Acts 13:47 NLT)

The advancement of God's kingdom can only occur when His children pray (Sorin: link here to page on prayer support). Please join us in praying for the gospel to be taken to the ends of the earth, for laborers to sow and reap His harvest, and for the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts and minds of those who hear God's Word. Pray for God's children to become true salt and light in our communities, and for the spiritual revival that will surely follow when we do.

“We can never expect to grow in the likeness of our Lord unless we follow His example and give more time to communion with the Father. A revival of real praying would produce a spiritual revolution.” E.M. Bounds
